About

Pina is a Solana program framework built on pinocchio, and it makes writing on-chain programs feel like writing plain Rust.

No macro soup. The validation chain is the API: payer.assert_signer()?.assert_writable()?; checks the account, and the same line gives the IDL generator the signer constraint. The interface is inferred from the code you actually write, not from a second set of annotations.

What you get:

  • The smallest binaries of any Solana framework. Hello world deploys at 1,616 bytes, 49% smaller than hand-written pinocchio.
  • Compute at hand-written cost. 360 CU per counter increment.
  • no_std and allocation-free. Every on-chain crate compiles with no heap and no allocator.
  • Managed ABI migrations. Version envelopes, generated transitions and a publication ledger let deployed programs evolve without breaking the clients that read them.
  • One CLI from init to mainnet. pina init, build, test, lint, profile, generate, deploy --rehearse.

Free and open source under Apache-2.0. Start with cargo add pina.

Pina is unaudited and still hardening — read the security model before deploying a program that holds value.

Day 2: Pina makes Solana programs feel like plain Rust — no macro soup, and the IDL falls out of the checks you already write. Try it with cargo add pina.
